Top 10 quotes by Luna from Sailor Moon

1. “Usagi Tsukino, I have finally found you.” –Luna

In the first episode of Sailor Moon, we have introduced to our protagonist Usagi and, later, her feline companion Luna. Luna was saved by Usagi from a group of teenage boys. Luna’s power became weak as her crescent spot was hidden beneath a band-aid which was a result of a prank. Completely unaware of her true identity Luna recognizes Usagi as the destined Sailor Moon warrior. She sneaks into Usagi’s house and reintroduces herself. Luna gives her a magical brooch which helps Usagi to transform into a Sailor Moon warrior. Thus begins the journey of our future hero.

 2. “If I was a human, I could at least be at his side as a Human. I would at least be able to tell him how I feel.”Luna

Let’s jump into the second movie from the series Sailor Moon. In this movie, we witness the very emotional and delicate side of our advisor Luna. Luna is a cat who guides the Sailor Moon along with the other sailor warriors on their mission. She seems to be wise and intelligent and must fulfil her mission to locate the moon princess. In this movie, Luna meets with a sick scientist Kakeru who believes in the story of the Moon kingdom situated on the Moon. After a few encounters, Luna falls in love with him. As her love deepens for the Scientist, she realizes the harsh truth that no matter what, her love can never reach its ultimate destination.

3. “Now I know what true love must feel like, and I wish I didn’t.”Luna

Confiding her feelings to Usagi, Luna realizes her love can never reach its ultimate destination. She is aware of the feelings of the Scientist who is in love with another woman, Himeko. Luna is heartbroken. Even though she is a cat she believed for one moment that the Scientist was her destined soulmate. No matter how much you devote yourself to your love, sometimes things are not meant to be.

4. “You must live for those that love you.”Luna

After Kakeru is healed, Luna (who has now transformed into a human) advises her to continue living for the ones who love him. She also encourages him to meet Himeko at the airport as she is his destined soulmate. Luna is in love with Kakeru and wishes to stay by his side, confessing her feelings to him. But at the same time, she also wishes for his happiness, and his happiness lies where his heart truly belongs, i.e., with Himeko.

5. “Don’t keep depending on others.” -Luna

Compared to the rest of the warriors, Usagi is the one who falls behind. While saving the ones who are in need, she jeopardizes her safety as well. Her clumsiness makes her one of the most relatable characters in the series. But you can’t entirely blame her. She is a mere 14-year-old middle school student. To help her pull out of such situations, Luna is her constant companion. She motivates Usagi to stop being dependent on others, and sometimes, she must use her length and power to defend against the dark forces.

6. “Usagi, this is not a dream.”-Luna

Let’s go back to the first episode, where we are introduced to Usagi and Luna. As Luna explains to Usagi about her identity, Usagi believes that this is just a dream. She shouts at Usagi claiming this is not a dream; instead, this is her reality, and she must accept it. To make Usagi believe, she hands her a brooch that would help her in the transformation of Sailor Moon.

7. “Can’t she think of anything more than boys and food?” -Luna

Luna Sailor Moon3

Well, what more did you expect from a 14-year-old middle school student? Unlike the rest of the anime protagonists, who are portrayed as strong, focused, determined, and enthusiastic about saving the world, Usagi prefers to stay in her dreamland where she can play as much as she wants and eat till her heart and tummy are satisfied. She has her heart set on the owner of the Arcade game studio. While she may be enjoying her dreamland, on the other hand, her feline companion has some alternate opinions about it. She insists Usagi, rather than involving her mind in such petty things, must rather invest the time in improving herself.

8. “You don’t even have to fly to the Moon, Serena. You are Spacey enough.” -Luna

Poor Luna, not only she has a mission to fulfil, but she also must guide the sailor warriors throughout their mission. Her job would have been quite easy if her companion had been a little more serious regarding her responsibilities. In this incident where Usagi (English name is Serena) expresses her desire to fly to the Moon, Luna comments that she doesn’t need a spaceship to fly into the Moon. She is so Spacey that she can travel to the Moon via her absent mind. While looking at the rest of the members, we do feel a little bit about Luna. Acting as a guide for a clumsy 14-year-old student is a heavy burden for a cat.

9. “Sailor moon, you can’t just keep running away.” -Luna

Another scene with the same advice. Luna tries her level best to encourage Usagi to stand strong and face the enemy rather than just running away from it. She tries her level best to make Usagi understand her responsibilities. Rather than running away from the problem, one must be brave enough to face it. Running away won’t necessarily solve the problem. Instead, your problems would keep on piling up.

10. “I feel some kind of evil energy.” -Luna

Luna Sailor Moon4

This is one of the most important superpowers. She has extremely sensitive sensory powers through which she senses any evil around her. We got the evidence of her power in the first episode, where she instantly recognizes Usagi as the sailor moon. Throughout the journey, Luna recognizes the other sailor warriors through her powers. This shows that more than being an advisor Luna also held some powers to help the warriors in defeating the dark forces.
