When you meet someone who believes in Christ, they become your adopted brother or sister. It is believed that you are a sibling of Jesus Christ (the Son of God) and that you are all God’s offspring and all members of the same family, metaphorically speaking, with a typical Father in Heaven.

There is no other greater identity than the identity of being God’s child, for He has created us— His children. We are nothing more than His beloved children in His eyes. The titles, notoriety, wealth, and other possessions we accumulate in our lives are all equivalent in God’s eyes. We discover our actual selves and true identity when we learn to look beyond just temporal accomplishments, all the worldly riches, and all that divides us from one another.
Only then will we be able to understand our real purpose—that of being the Lord’s children—and why he chose to place us here on earth. Our shared identity of being God’s children binds us together and is the only key to living a harmonious and faithful life.

Our church’s community is built on firm underpinnings. The core values that have contributed to who we are are our unremitting, steadfast, and unwavering devotion to the Lord and our love and concern for one another in our community. It has aided us by getting us one step further in comprehending the Lord’s mysterious ways of working and His message to His children, which ultimately directs us to help our siblings in Christ. However, the ineradicable connections we build and the unbreakable links we create while carrying out His work—namely, as brothers and sisters in Christ—are eternal.

Working toward a higher goal aids in instilling qualities that can only be obtained by completing the Lord’s work. People may become sidetracked sometimes, but when they have such strong morals and ethics that they see around them, it isn’t easy to unlearn. One of the most significant characteristics and benefits of being God’s child is genuine altruism or selflessness. There is nothing like assisting a brother or sister in need without considering what you may receive in return.
When you assist your fellow Christ-believers, you begin a new road of self-development without constantly thinking about it in the back of your mind. Doing the Lord’s work begins with doing seemingly insignificant actions in one’s life. Always remember that the Lord does not ask for fraudulent deeds from our brothers and sisters in Christ. Altruistic acts carried out for one’s gain will never be condoned by Him.

Whatever we are in this life, we believe in the anointed and almighty Lord. Often, people think doing as many good deeds as possible is the ultimate way to ensure that the Lord is merciful enough to grant us heaven after our life ends.
However, that is a superficial and shallow school of thought, and that way of thinking will never pave the way toward Him for us. Righteousness and purity will only come to us when we follow Christ’s sayings, refrain from saying the Lord’s name in vain, and keep it etched in our minds that following the path to Him is the ultimate way to find the way to live a dutiful and peaceful life.

God has provided us with abundant resources because he does not want us to keep them to ourselves and hoard them. He may bestow riches, fame, and wisdom onto us, but all this is to assist our Christian brothers and sisters. You may believe that you are His chosen kid and that he handpicked you to give you everything. That, however, is not the case. Keeping the Lord’s gifts to yourself while turning a blind eye to your community and your fellow believers in Christ is a very erroneous view and misguided way of thinking. When you look after your community and those in need, you will realize the true meaning of your purpose on earth.

Our faith in Christ should never be restricted to any particular land, state, or nation, for that matter. The brothers and sisters who live far away from us, in another nation, city, or state, are still considered family members. They are still our fellow Christians. Thus, your love, esteem, and concern for one another shouldn’t diminish. We have a tremendous potential to offer to our community since Christ has been incredibly gracious and kind to provide it to us; this capacity should not be squandered. Remember that our brothers and sisters who live far away from us, in some other country, city, or state, are still our family.

You must take of your substance, and not just of your abundance, in order to help them. And you must treat them like guests at your family table.” -Pope John Paul II
This does not apply to just one country. This is something that every believer in the Lord has to keep in mind. You should never think about your community, those in need, or the family you found doing the Lord’s work after achieving it or being satiated in life. Thinking about them or just showing that you care for them when, in reality, you are just waiting for them to grab at what you have left behind for them is a highly superficial way of leading as a true child of God. This shows that you always try to find loopholes while doing the Lord’s work. Giving or sharing only when you have an abundance of it is like running a charity for your fellow believers. You will have to consider them your family because they are your family, and you would never leave leftovers for your family members, would you?
We should always strive to refrain from disputing among ourselves at all times. Although, if you do have a fallout with your fellow sisters or brothers in Christ you should be able to mend the rupture by confiding in your sisters and brothers in Christ.
1. James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
You may always count on the support of our fellow believers in Christ. Leading you down a road of righteousness. But if you commit a transgression, no matter how minor or significant it may appear, you should confess it to one another. You will find the courage to confess your sin and vow never to do it again in their opinions and comments. Alternatively, suppose a fellow Christian confides in you and has the fortitude to confess to you. In that case, you should welcome them into your heart, embrace them, and exemplify the power of praying from a pure heart and a clear conscience for them.

Only caring for those in your community while disregarding those who do not believe in Christ is not the way to embrace the Lord’s teachings. Never intentionally inflict harm on anyone who is not your brothers and sisters in Christ. Stick to what the Lord has spoken about kindness and loving thy neighbor, and perhaps one day that individual will recognize what the Lord has to offer, and you will be able to assist them in starting a new journey as a fellow child of His.

Love is one of the most potent virtues of all. Occasionally, you may wonder if doing the Lord’s work is worthwhile. You will naturally be able to handle everything with ease when you cultivate a sense of love and compassion for your fellow Christian brothers and sisters. And when they see how much love you are sowing in the community, they will be intrinsically motivated to do the same and follow suit, eventually bonding us as a harmonious community.
