The story takes place in the” Tashiro Era. During that era, the whole country of Japan was under the threat of demons whose terror had been going on for centuries. Well, the demons were half immortals as they could survive for centuries. Those demons had three weaknesses – decapitating their head with the Nichirin swords, injecting poison extracted from wisteria flowers, and exposure to the sun.
To fight against the demons, there was a secret society known as The Demon Slayer Crops, whose aim was to wipe out every Demon from the world. Amidst all this chaos, our protagonist Tanjiro Kamado lives with his family in the mountains. After the death of Tanjiro’s father, he becomes the sole breadwinner of this family.
The young boy travels down the mountain to sell charcoal in the nearby village. One fine day after returning from his work, Tanjiro discovers that his family has been slaughtered by a demon. Tanjiro, along with his Demon sister Nezuko (who was the sole survivor of the massacre but unfortunately turns into a demon), sets on a journey to take revenge on the Demon who slaughtered his family and, most importantly, to turn his sister back into a human.
There’s More…
Moving forward, Tanjiro joins The Demon Slayer Crops, where he further learns about the strength and weaknesses of each Demon and the mastermind who is behind all of this terror, Muzan Kibutsuji.
That was all about the plot of the anime. Now let us take a look at our hero Inosuke Hashibira.
Inosuke Hashibira is another protagonist and the travel companion of Tanjiro Kamado along with Zenitsu Agatsuma. He is another member of The Demon Slayer Crops. Inosuke is an extremely short-tempered, loud mouth and proud man. And he is seen constantly showing off his strength and challenging most of the people he crosses his path. Inosuke also has a problem pronouncing his comrades’ names.
Many times in the show, we have witnessed him pronouncing absurd names of Tanjiro’s. Inosuke is an orphan whose mother died while protecting him from a demon. He was raised by a family of boars. As he was raised by the boars, Inosuke had a little trouble understanding human interaction. However, as the story progressed, we saw new growth in Inosuke, especially with his fighting style and his relation with his fellow comrades.

Growing up in the mountains and living with the boars, Inosuke developed some of his natural talents. He developed a sharp and sensitive sense of touch that he could even feel a small vibration in the air. And he is extremely flexible and could easily dislocate any joints in his body. He also developed a resistance to poison.
Inosuke is also extremely talented. Compared to the rest of his comrades, Inosuke developed his own breathing technique, ‘Beast Breathing’. With his breathing techniques and natural abilities, Inosuke could pinpoint his enemy’s exact location giving him an edge in his fighting. Inosuke is the only one who wields a dual Nichirin sword with a jagged edge.

As the boys sit there and cry, Inosuke, who is sobbing hysterically, tries to motivate them by getting them to train. His false bravado fails as he fails his arms sporadically. He realizes that to get stronger, they need more training and discipline.
